Boys Scouts of America

The Aquehonga District of the Boy Scouts of America Greater NYC Council holds its monthly Round Table in the Parish House. While we, at New Dorp Moravian do not sponsor a Pack or a Troop, there are many active Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops on Staten Island, including a troop that is sponsored by the Castleton Hill Moravian Church.

Project Hospitality

Project Hospitality is a unique and important ministry on Staten Island. It is involved in addressing almost any need that an individual or family may have – including food programs, shelters, domestic abuse counseling, alcohol and substance abuse, and more. During the year, Project Hospitality will use our site to host meetings, forums, the annual homeless census and more. Hosting their events and activities is one of the ways that we partner with them to try to assist people in need.

Anyone who experienced or witnessed Hurricane Sandy in 2012 knows how much damage one storm can do. Now, almost 4 years after the storm, while much has been done, there is still a lot left to do. Even as we continue to host mission teams that come to assist with repairs and rebuilds, the Staten Island LTRO, or Long Term Recovery Organization, still meets regularly in the Parish House. Their purpose is two-fold: First, it continues to be aware of what still needs to be done after Sandy, and second, it is preparing strategies and plans for dealing with future emergencies.

Staten Island Ballroom Dancers

This community group meets every Thursday night at 7:00 PM in the Parish House auditorium. (They do not meet during July and August)

Staten Island Quilters

This group is for anyone interested in learning more about the art of quilting. In addition to meeting at 10:00 AM on the second and fourth Friday of the month, this group also hosts an annual quilt show here at the Church. (They do not meet during July and August)
