The Moravian Church has a long tradition of music as a form of artistic expression, entertainment, and as an important element of worship. We believe that music is a gift that should be shared. “I Like New York In June!”
A children’s and adult choirs concert with soloists, and small ensembles
June 15th, 2019 – 7:30 PM
Come Join us for a fantastic concert featuring The NYU Children’s & Adult Choirs and friends.
The novice children will be singing in chorus with soloists, familiar folk songs like “Kookaburra,” tunes in other languages like “Sakura” and “Oye”.
The apprentice children will sing in Arabic, Spanish and Latin as well as a favorite from Broadway – “There’s No Business Like Show Business” They will even reproduce a rain forest by only using their mouths and bodies!
The adult choirs will sing madrigals from Tallis and Purcell, “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine,” and Billy Joel’s “Good Night My Angel”.
The concert will be rounded out with a rousing tenor solo – “Granada”, a soprano Solo from the Disney feature film, Moana, called “How Far Will I Go,” and several presentations from a guest artist!
Come one, come all, and enjoy “I Like New York In June” with fantastic music and energy from The NYU choruses, friends, and you at NDMC!
Christmas in Tuscany
A Concert with Michéal Castaldo
Come Join us for a Christmas Concert featuring Michéal Castaldo. He concertizes all around the world, and will be with us again this December 1st! Michéal sings in Italian, Latin, and English, to beautiful string quartet and instrumental accompaniment with accent lighting and scenes of the nativity story.
He will again be joined by Dylan Sauerwald (organist), Andrew Kay (pianist/tenor), and select children from the New Dorp Moravian Church to welcome the Spirit of Christmas. So come one, come all to a seasonal celebration in song and story, Italian style.

Jazz Concert: Mimi & the Podd Brothers & Friends
Saturday, September 22nd
This is a jazz blowout like none other. It features the beloved Podd Brothers, Mimi and a combined seven piece jazz orchestra.
Mimi is a jazzer that can also sing opera AND she will charm and sing the socks off of any one present. The twin Podd brothers are both virtuosic at the piano. Adam also plays the bass, and Matt plays the accordion – among various other instruments.

There will be an excellent tune or two celebrating Pastor Duane Ullrich’s fifteen years at New Dorp, and thirty-five years of total ministry.
“A Spring Sing with Bling!”

Come Join us for a fantastic concert featuring The NYU Childrens and Adult Choirs.
The children will be singing peppy, familiar folk songs like “Old John Tucker,” famous arias like “O Mio Babbino Caro” and other energetic tunes from around the globe.
The adult choirs will sing The Beetles’ “Good Day Sunshine,” “No Man is an Island,” & Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus.”
The concert will be rounded out with a rousing tenor solo – “Torna a Surriento” a soprano Solo from the Disney feature film, Moana, called “How Far Will I Go,” and a Kay Family Trio singing “A MIllion Dreams” from The Greatest Showman!
So come one and all to “Bling in the Spring” with fantastic music and energy from The NYU choruses, The Kay Family Singers and Friends @ NDMC!
Northern Voices Unite
a Norwegian Boy’s Choir Concert
Come Join us for a fantastic concert featuring The Vingrom Church’s Boy’s Choir on tour from Norway. This concert will be a joyful celebration of the spirit of children both young and older.
Even if you do not understand Norwegian, the children will be singing lively, catchy and some familiar songs in several languages.
The choir is led by Carol and Thor Kvande.

Fall Jazz Night
The Jamie Baum Quartet

Enjoy the wildly vibrant and varied textures of the alto flute, flute, piano, drums and bass as some of the finest jazz musicians in the city weave their ways thru the standards, originals, and personal hits of a fantastically festive fall evening of Jazz!
Jamie Baum, a Guggenheim Award winner has toured in over 30 countries and consistently placed in the Down Beat Critics Polls for “Best Flutists” since 1998.

An evening of beautiful arrangements covering the spectrum from opera to jazz was performed by three amazing musicians on accordion.
The New York Chorale Society presents “Christmas Around New York”
Our church was the Staten Island venue for this choir’s program of traditional international and popular Christmas music as well as a Christmas carol sing-along, accompanied by organ and brass.
Annual Jazz Concert at New Dorp
We continued our exciting annual spring jazz concert with a high -energy evening of jazz standards, improvisation, and blues. The 2015 Jazz Concert featured the music of “The Ladybugs.”
A Night at the Operetta – Pirates of Penzance – in concert
The Village Light Opera Guild presented “Pirates of Penzance – In Concert”. This Gilbert & Sullivan fan-favorite is the perfect blend of comedy and classical singing for lovers of opera, pirates … or both.
