September 11th Anniversary
September 11, 2001. It is a day that will not be forgotten. It will not be forgotten because it is a day that changed the world. The epicenter, the "ground zero" was here in our midst, but the ripples, in some way, touched people and nations around the globe. It was a day of great loss. There was the loss of life, the loss of relationships, and the loss of property. For some, there was also the loss of feeling safe, the loss of promise, the loss of hope, and the loss of faith. Our Sanctuary will be open during the day for anyone who wishes to come and spend some time in prayer.
September 16 Back to Church Sunday
Summer is almost over. School vacations are done. The NFL season is back. The World Series is getting closer, It's also time when we will be starting a new and exciting fall season of worship, study, fellowship and service, and a number of things will be starting on Sunday, September 16. Here are some things that are happening this fall:
Sunday School Classes resume on September 16. The Classes begin in the Sanctuary with children and youth joining the rest of the congregation at the beginning of the 10:00 AM Worship Service. They join us for some singing and hear the lessons of the day. After a message just for them from the Pastor, they are dismissed for the rest of their class time.
Items for the Holiday Food Baskets will be collected starting September 16. Watch for the list of items that will be in this year's basket. (Also, watch for sales and let us know if upcoming items go on sale!)
There will be a special Potluck Lunch after the service on September 16. Everyone is invited to bring an entre, salad, or dessert to share. Beverages will be provided.
The Chancel Choir will resume their weekly rehearsals in order to provide a special anthem for our Sunday Services. Confirmation Classes, for those youth in Grades 7 & 8 will be starting in the first week of October. And, the Thursday Morning Bible Study will be picking up where it left off with the study of the Gospel of John.
It's going to be an exciting season - so join us for any, or all of our events and activities -
especially those on Back to Church Sunday!
