Delegates from the congregations of the Eastern District of the Moravian Church gathered at Moravian College for our Eastern District Synod. The purpose of Synod is to review our mutual ministries and to discern God's guidance for the coming years. Delegates participated in times of worship, reviewed reports, elected members to District Boards, Committees, and Commissions, adopted a budget, and passed various pieces of legislation. Delegates from New Dorp were Pastor Duane, Paul Hoppe and Carol Bugge.

    Of Special Note:  The Rev. David Bennett, Chaplain at Moravian College, was elected to replace the Rev. Gary Straughan as our District President. The Rev. Dennis Rohn and the Rev. Michael Johnson (John Hus Moravian), were the two clergy elected to the EDEB.
